Presentation exposes human trafficking
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will host “Exposing the Secret Web of Trafficking” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the St. Jude Room at the church, at 26 1/2 and H roads.
The public is invited to attend the presentation on human trafficking. There will be a film and discussion covering who is trafficked, who are the traffickers, who are the users and what can be done to help.

Scandinavian Smorgasbord at Shepherd
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 3133 F Road, will celebrate its 27th annual Scandinavian Smorgasbord on Jan. 25.
The public is invited to join in savoring an elaborate buffet of Scandinavian delicacies such as lutefisk, Swedish meatballs, potato sausage, lefse, rosettes, krumkake, lingonberry sauce, Swedish rye bread and more.
There will be seatings at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Cost is $16 for adults and $5 for children. Ages younger than 4 are free.

Pro-life Candlelight Vigil at courthouse
A pro-life Candlelight Vigil and Walk for Life will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Mesa County Courthouse, at Sixth Street and Rood Avenue.
The vigil will remember the more than 55 million lives lost to abortion since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision.
After the vigil and walk, participants will proceed to the First United Methodist Church, 522 White Ave., for a chili dinner.
