Day of Prayer at park in Collbran
The National Day of Prayer will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Service Women’s Memorial Park in Collbran.

Fundraiser for Jackman at Crossroads
A fundraiser for Chaplain Jackman of the Delta Correctional Center is planned for 11 a.m. May 10 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 599 30 Road.
The luncheon will be provided by Mr. B’s Barbecue, and tickets are $15 per person. Reserve a table of five for $70 or a table of eight for $100. A silent auction will also take place, and entertainment will be provided.

Animal service at Church of Nativity
Church of the Nativity will have an animal memorial service at 5 p.m. Sunday near the wooded area behind the church, 2175 Broadway.
The simple, nondenominational service is in memory of animal companions. Stories of the animals who have blessed lives will be shared, and names of the animals to be remembered will be read aloud by those gathered.
Names can also be added by those in attendance.

May Friendship Day at United Church
Church Women United of Grand Junction will celebrate May Friendship Day at 11:30 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 1425 N. Fifth St.
The celebration theme is “Through God Our Hands Can Service” and will include a salad luncheon and worship. All women are invited to attend. Take a salad to share as well as pennies for the dedication of the Least Coin, an effort to bring about peace and reconciliation through praying for peace.
