Concert at American Lutheran Church
“Traditions, Old and New,” a concert of classics featuring the team of Martha Sandford-Heyns on organ, piano and harpsichord, and Ginger Hedrick on flute, will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday at American Lutheran Church, 631 26 1/2 Road, at the corner of F 1/2 Road and North Seventh Street.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Emergency Shelter Program of the Grand Valley and playground equipment.
Pumpkin patch event at Crossroads
Crossroads United Methodist Church will host its annual pumpkin patch fundraising event beginning Monday at 599 30 Road.
The Pumpkin Patch will be open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 31.
Admission is free and open to the public. Pumpkins and gourds will be available for sale, and there will be a maze for the kids, bean bag toss and photo opportunities. Proceeds will be used to fund the youth mission trip.
Groups can schedule story-telling sessions by calling the church at 242-0577.
Feast Day at St. Luke’s Church
Feast Day of St. Luke the Physician will be celebrated beginning at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke’s Church, Fifth and Palmer streets in Delta.
All friends and families of medical professionals and support staff are invited to join the Delta community in a short prayer service followed by a finger food reception in the newly painted parish hall.
During the service, “The Good Samaritan” plaque will be awarded to a person who stood out this past year for his or her dedication and willingness to go the extra mile in health care.
St. Luke’s Church upholds the Feast Day of St. Luke as a time for all to show our gratitude to all persons in Delta County involved in health care.

Daddy-Daughter event on Oct. 19
Plateau Valley Resources will host a Daddy-Daughter Date event from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Mesa Community Center in Mesa.
Butterfly Kisses is for daughters ages 8 and older, along with dads — or grandfathers, uncles, etc. — if a dad is not available.
Cost is $25 per couple and $10 for additional daughters. The event features a corsage, memory photo, dinner, sharing time and dancing.
Registration is required and the deadline to register is Tuesday. Call 487-3827 for information or to register.
