Delta kitchen has gear, needs building
After two years of gathering commercial kitchen equipment, tables, chairs, dishes, silverware, and more, The Kings Table Soup Kitchen in Delta is ready to serve meals to 100 people a day.
It just needs a building so it can open the doors.
“Delta and its small surrounding towns have been hit hard by job loss as well as a poor economy in general,” a news release said.
“Not only do we have the homeless, veterans, and elderly that need a good healthy meal everyday, but families with children as well.”
The ministry is seeking donations from the public to reach the goal of securing a building and opening soon. Donations can be sent to The Kings Table, P.O. Box 84 , Delta, 81416. Receipts for tax purposes can be sent upon request.
Film shows ‘Luther’s Life and Legacy’
A one-time screening of the film “A Return to Grace: Luther’s Life and Legacy” will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Regal Canyon View Stadium 14.
The screening, hosted by St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, explores Martin Luther’s triggering of a “seismic upheaval” 500 years ago, “that rocked the Western world — with an impact that continues to reverberate to this day,” a news release said.
The new film “follows the great adventure story of Martin Luther’s life, packed with political intrigue, kidnappings, secret hideouts, and life-or-death showdowns. At the same time, it’s a story about the most important questions of life. ‘Who am I?’ ‘What is my purpose?’ ‘How do I get right with God?’ ” the release said.
Tickets are $ 9 and must be ordered by Oct. 15, online at stpaulgj.org.
