Renaissance-pirate fair at new location
It’s time for noble knights and jesters, fair ladies and saucy wenches to gather for the 2010 Ravenshire Renaissance & Pirate Faire.
The 10th annual event will be Friday through Sunday, Aug. 13–15, at a new location this year: 312 29 Road. The location is private property, has a full canopy of trees and is next to the Colorado River.
Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The event is a blend of the Renaissance in the year 1550 and 18th century pirates with a variety of entertainment and performers, historical re-creationists and re-enactment organizations.
Visitors can play games and browse food vendors and merchants offering historical reproduction of clothing and other goods.
Period attire is welcome. Check out the costume guide at http://www.faires.com/Ravenshire for ideas. Weapons may be worn if appropriate to your character, but must be kept sheathed and peace-tied at all times. No firearms, real or pretend.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, $5 for students age 12 through 17, and free for children under 12. Advance tickets are available online.
Call 314-4864 or go to http://www.faires.com/Ravenshire for more information.
