ShareFest taking job applications

A crew of workers from First Presbyterian Church clean up the planters and sidewalk behind Orchard Avenue Elementary School Sunday as they participate in ShareFest.

Need help spring cleaning? Just can’t climb the ladder high enough to prune the apple tree?

A slew of Christian volunteers is ready to assist any and all tasks this spring through the annual ShareFest Weekend, taking place April 30 and May 1. The event joins those who need physical help around their homes and neighborhoods with a number of people from area churches willing to do the work, in the name of Jesus, they say.

Needs are being accepted at http://www.gjsharefest.com and deadline for submission is April 1.

More than 100 small jobs have been submitted to the site and volunteers are needed to fulfill those requests. Some of the needs include fence repair, house painting, window washing and spring swamp cooler maintenance. Volunteers are encouraged to pick a job from the list on the website.

The weekend is sponsored by many area businesses and direct donations from the community. To make a donation, send checks to First Presbyterian Church, 3940 27 1/2 Road, Grand Junction 81506. Include ShareFest in the memo line.
