Small explosion detonates in GJ home
Two people were transported to an area hospital this afternoon after a small explosion in their Grand Junction home in the 1300 block of North 23rd Street.
The cause of the explosion still is under investigation, but it appeared to have occurred inside a safe in the home, resulting in minor injuries for the two and minor damage to the home, said Kate Porras, spokeswoman for the Grand Junction Police Department.
The two people, a man and a woman, sustained “non-life threatening injuries,” she said.
A bomb technician from the department was on scene to investigate the incident, which resulted in no threat or damage to neighboring homes.
