Sigl is RMAC defensive player of week

Kelsey Sigl’s career-high 14 rebounds Saturday night in Colorado Mesa University’s 107-96 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State helped her earn RMAC defensive player of the week honors.

The 6-foot junior guard from Bismark, N.D., averaged 7 defensive rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1 block in the Mavericks’ two wins in Clarion Inn Thanksgiving Tip-off. Sigl averaged 10.5 total rebounds and 22.5 points a game, including a career-high 31 points against Panhandle State.

Colorado Mesa (2-2) opens RMAC play this weekend at Brownson Arena, facing Chadron State on Friday and Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. The women’s game begins at 5:30 each evening, with the men’s teams tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
