Personal hero and why: My personal hero is my grandpa because I admire his love for the family and his positive outlook of life despite the tremendous obstacles he has overcome.
Preferred college: Colorado School of Mines.
Preferred career: Chemical engineer.
Greatest achievement so far: Earning the American Chemical Society Outstanding Science Achievement Award.
What you’d like to be your next greatest achievement: Earning valedictorian of Grand Junction High School.
Q: What was the most memorable lesson you ever learned in a class?
A: Never argue anyone’s opinion; it will never change.
Q: What subject or extracurricular activity are you most passionate about and why?
A: I am most passionate about the subject chemistry because I feel successful in the class, and I believe that I can continue to push myself to eventually create a career out of the subject.
Q: Describe a time when you knew you made a difference in the community or someone else’s life.
A: Recently I organized a coat drive at Grand Junction High School to assist teens through The House. The thought of going through winter without a coat motivated my planning, hoping to ensure no one in our community suffered through this winter.
Q: What are your goals for after high school?
A: To transfer my academic success to success in college and success in employment.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Chemical engineer.
