■ Kelsey Sullivan of Grand Junction will receive her bachelor’s degree in elementary education May 5 from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

■ Katelyn Baker of Grand Junction, attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, received accolades for best blog, along with five other classmates. Their blog, “Trending Topics,” is through the Marquette Journal. Baker is a senior journalism major in the College of Communication.

■ Jaimie Sullivan of Grand Junction will receive her associate degree in culinary arts May 12 from Colorado Mesa University.

■ Jonathon Crews of Grand Junction received a bachelor’s degree in management at commencement ceremonies Saturday at Montana State University in Billings.

■ The Fruita Consumers Co-op has awarded Co-op Country scholarships ranging from $500–$1,000 to Teddi Larson, Fruita Monument High School, planning to attend Montana State University; Kayla Calvin, Fruita Monument High, attending Colorado Mesa University; Hannah Talbott, Palisade High School, attending CMU; Blaine Wood, Colorado Heritage Educational School System, attending CMU; Taylor Hammer, Soroco High School, attending University of Wyoming; and Scott Bird, Nucla High School, attending Western State College.

Ugly car photos could win scholarship

Clifton Auto Body owners Jerry and Elyse Casselberry have partnered with Textbook Brokers in Grand Junction to offer a $400 scholarship to local high school and college students.

To enter to win the scholarship, students should take photos of their ugly cars and email them to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Include name, email and phone number. The entrants will then receive an email with links to where their photos will appear on BuzzTown, and they in turn email the link to friends, asking them to vote. The photo with the most votes wins.
