■ Kierra Aiello of Grand Junction graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in music and art history, along with a master’s degree in art history with a museum studies concentration. She was also selected as Outstanding Art Student of the Year.

Pinnacol Foundation gives scholarships

Area students are among 112 Colorado students to be awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships from The Pinnacol Foundation for the 2017–18 school year. The Pinnacol Foundation provides scholarships to the children of Colorado workers who were killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents, whether or not Pinnacol was the insurance carrier.

The students are Lindsey Christensen of Rifle, attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins; Sadie Christensen, Rifle, Colorado Mesa University; Morgan Crouse, Loma, Colorado Mesa University; Holly Hernandez, Eckert, Colorado Mesa University; Brittany Hoppe, Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University; James Prescott, Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University; Joel Quintana, Palisade, the University of Tampa; Lauren Quintana, Palisade, Colorado State University in Fort Collins; Cesar Reyes, Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University; Benjamin Thomas, Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University; and Viviane Turman, Grand Junction, Westminster College.
