Technical education open houses set
Colorado Mesa University, Western Colorado Community College and the Montrose County School District will sponsor open houses for Montrose and Olathe high school students interested in enrolling in one of three technical educations programs being offered at CMU’s Montrose campus next fall.
Open houses will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Montrose High School cafeteria and from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Olathe High School library.
The new programs to be offered in Montrose by WCCC are medical preparation, computer network technology and early childhood education. High school students who are currently sophomores or juniors may earn both high school and college credits with no tuition charges.
The deadline to apply for admission to the programs is March 10. Eligible students are currently sophomores and juniors who have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

River Canyon School plans open house
River Canyon School, offering a unique play-based curriculum inspired by Waldorf education, will have an open house from 9 to 11 a.m. March 11 at the school, 730 25 Road.
Free play and simple crafts will be at 9:30 a.m., with a puppet play at 10 a.m. and parent question-and-answer session at 10:30 a.m.
