■ Jennifer Aaberg, a 2009 graduate of Central High School, graduated Dec. 5 from the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in chemistry. Aaberg graduated magna cum laude and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa.

■ Grand Junction Elks Lodge 575 has awarded $250 scholarships to area high school students Conner A. Travis, Joshua L. Murdock, Logan D. Harrison, Briana E. Elias, Shelby R. Rubalcaba and Jenna C. Lucas.

Winners at the local level will advance to Elks Most Valuable Student competition, which offers 500 four-year scholarships, ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year. Elks scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors based on financial need, leadership and scholarship.
