Student Spotlight, Oct. 28, 2013

■ Montrose High School honored eight students during its October Division Awards ceremony Oct. 2: Reanna Peterson, Mandy Collins, Lauren McCullough, Makenzie Coca, Kyle Hawks, Zachary McKinnon, Josh Lemus and Javier Cruz.

Each month, one teacher from each department chooses a student for the award. Students are considered for the award based on improvement in class, being a good role models and having a good work ethic. 

■ Aaron McDowell of Grand Junction was elected president of Engineers Without Borders, a Level 2 Registered Student Organization at Fort Lewis College in Durango. McDowell’s major is biology with an environmental biology option.
