Student Spotlight, Oct. 31, 2016

■ Nicole Castle of Parachute, a Grand River Virtual Academy graduate, was named to the president’s list at Colorado Mesa University for both semesters of her freshman year. She was among those recognized at a reception Sept. 30 and awarded a pin to mark the occasion.

Castle is working toward a degree that focuses on cellular, molecular and developmental biology, with the goal to do research on diseases at the molecular level.

Financial aid sessions are scheduled

School District 51 high school juniors and seniors and their families are invited to attend the Unified Financial Aid Night event at 
6 p.m. Tuesday in the Meyer Ballroom at Colorado Mesa University. 

Tuesday’s event will be offered in English. A second Unified Financial Aid Night will be offered in Spanish at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Central High School library.

Students and family members can learn more about college financing options with information about scholarships, student employment and how to apply for financial aid.
