Parents: Martin Seely. My mom, Pamela, passed away in July 2007.
Personal hero and why: Anyone who has overcome adversity to be great at what they do.
Preferred college: New Mexico State University.
Preferred career: Civil engineer.
Greatest achievement so far: I don’t really look back on my past achievements. I like to focus on what’s next.
What you’d like to be your next greatest achievement: I would like to win the Colorado State High School Rodeo Finals this year.
Q: What has been your favorite class in high school and why?
A: I really liked history. It’s very interesting and fun to learn about.
Q: How do you prepare for a big test?
A: I read my notes out loud a few times the night before. Seeing and hearing what I need to know helps me remember.
Q: If you could have your pick of service projects, who would you help and how?
A: I would help kids who have lost a parent with their school work, because I had such a hard time focusing in the year after my mom’s death.
Q: What does it say under “interests” on your Facebook page?
A: Roping, hunting, fishing, working and getting money.
Q: What’s the best advice a teacher, coach or parent has ever given you?
A: “Good better best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best.”
Q: Where would you like to be in 10 years?
A: Have an engineering degree and be rodeoing professionally all year. My degree is a fallback if the rodeo thing doesn’t work out.
