Personal hero and why: My best friend, Rachel, because no matter how crazy I get sometimes, she’s always there to calm me down and cheer me up. I’d be lost without her.
Preferred college: Pacific University.
Preferred career: Novelist.
Greatest achievement so far: Finishing my first novel.
What you’d like to be your next greatest achievement: Publishing a novel.
Q: What has been your favorite class in high school and why?
A: Advanced Placement Literature, because I’ve gotten to read classics I had been too intimidated to read previously, and I’ve grown as a writer exponentially.
Q: How do you prepare for a big test?
A: I take practice tests, fill out study guides and quiz my friends in the class.
Q: If you could have your pick of service projects, who would you help and how?
A: Advanced elementary school kids, because I remember how cool it was to have older students work with me and teach me that it’s not a bad thing to be smart.
Q: What does it say under “interests” on your Facebook page?
A: Reading, writing, arguing, music.
Q: What’s the best advice a teacher, coach or parent has ever given you?
A: Always put your name on your paper.
Q: Where would you like to be in 10 years?
A: In a foreign coffee shop, writing novels contentedly.
