For two days and nights, 200 teenagers from the Grand Junction West Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints reenacted the western migration of Mormon pioneers in the mid-1800s, according to Annie Payne, who sent in this photo. Dressed in pioneer costumes, the teens pulled handcarts across private property on Glade Park, covering about 20 miles over two hot days in July, Payne wrote.

Colorado Mesa University’s indoor volleyball team’s new official car is a 2017 Premium Forester from Grand Junction Subaru. The car is wrapped in a Maverick volleyball design “that looks great and will definitely capture people’s attention on the road,” said Ron Bubar, owner of Grand Junction Subaru. Bubar presented the keys to the team’s head coach, Dave Fleming, in early September.

Ron and Irene Bladow wait to be rescued after the steering failed in the jet boat they were riding on and it crashed into the bank of the Nenana River outside Denali National Park in Alaska. No one was hurt, Ron wrote.
