Five generations of family gathered for Betty Dowd Simpson’s 89th birthday. Pictured from left are Jack Lee, Patty Lee, Simpson and Lauren Russell held by Christina Russell. “Betty, a lifelong resident of the Grand Junction, area enjoys her family, gardening and baseball,” according to an email submission.



Annelise Tate, who was home in July from studying in Graz, Austria, is in turn studied by the puppy Gia.



“Thanks to Officer Ben Carnes for stopping by and allowing our kids to check out his patrol car and being so friendly! Tom and Sue Ann Buick put rubber snakes around the porch of their Redlands home to keep birds from building nests there. “They have worked great for years, that is until this hummingbird decided that the ‘snake’ was the perfect place to build her nest,” wrote Tom Buick. “Her two eggs have hatched and everybody seems happy and content.” This photo was take by Sue Ann Buick.

Olivia Begley shows off the fish she caught with her Papa at Ridgway State Park. This photo was taken by John Furca on April 24. Olivia has been treated at a Shriners hospital, according to an email from Steve Thomas, a member of Shriners. Shriner hospitals treat children with a variety of conditions — orthopedic and spinal problems, cleft lip and palette, burns and more — at no cost to families.
