You Saw It: Wildlife, Oct. 12, 2017

Stephen Wilson spotted this sight while on Corkscrew Trail in September.



“I grew up here in Grand Junction and have never seen the elusive desert bighorn sheep,” wrote Shawna Koller. Then on a hike on Sept. 9, she spotted this.



“These bighorn sheep surprised me on a recent summer afternoon while running the Monument Canyon Trail,” Eric Sandstrom wrote.



Ruth Beach enjoyed seeing this bobcat near the Colorado National Monument.



During a visit to Rocky Mountain National Park in September, Glenna Hopkins spotted this bull elk and listened to elk bugling in the area.



“We invaded this little fellow’s hilltop in the middle of Wyoming while viewing the eclipse in August,” wrote Rosco Betunada. “Obviously, a horned lizard. We have never seen them so small — about the size of my thumb. The hilltop was populated with several more.”



“Just hanging out in my backyard,” wrote Jenny White with this photo.



A flock of ibis was roosting at Corn Lake in September, according to Tim Chinn, who submitted this photo.



A squirrel snacks on chokecherries in Jane Fitzgerald’s backyard on the Redlands. Jane took the photo on Sept. 13.
