120 years: 1893
As The Daily Sentinel nears its 120th year of continuous publication, my historical writing muse reared its lovely head and I jumped at the chance to compile this countdown. To choose just one news report or one representative advertising piece from an entire 365 days worth of papers is a seemingly daunting task. To not over think it, I narrowed it down to somewhere between July 24 through November 20 of each year. The actual papers that I photographed are located in the Loyd Files Library at the Museum of Western Colorado, our own public treasure trove of western Colorado history.
