3,400 without power after truck snags transmission line
Nearly 3,400 customers are without power in the Grand Valley after a truck apparently snared a transmission line.
Grand Valley Power spokesman Bill Byers said the truck’s occupants were not injured after hitting an overhead transmission line, with a load of roughly 69,000 kilovolts, just after noon near 32 Road. Customers on Orchard Mesa, east of 27 Road to 33 Road, between 28 and 29 roads, in addition to all of Whitewater and Gateway, have seen disruptions in service, Byers said.
He said they hope to have service restored later this afternoon.
