48 employees retire from School District 51
Forty-eight District 51 employees who will retire at the end of this school year were honored last week at the district’s annual Salute to Staff event at Central High School.
The event honored soon-to-be retirees as well as employees who have worked for the district five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 years. This year’s list of retirees, which may change before the start of 2013-14, includes District 51 Executive Director of Academic Achievement for Elementary Schools Andy Laase; Psychologist Pat Schniederjan; Administrative Building workers Theresa Ruddell, Dan Wanczyk, and Lynn Whipple; Carol Brinkman, Sara Cunningham, and Nancy Ohlson, all of the Hawthorne administrative building; and warehouse worker Richard Miller.
At the high school level, retirees include: James Given, Carla Graham, Jeanne James and George Sierra of Central High School; Carol Leicht of Grand Junction High School; Frank Davidson, Flo Helmer and Paul Pitton of Palisade High School; and Linda Cox of The Opportunity Center.
Retiring at the middle school level are: Joel Miller of East Middle School, Cindy Fromang and Ernest McHugh of Fruita 8/9, Ronda Baker of Grand Mesa Middle School, Wanda McConnell of Mount Garfield Middle School, Barbara Pruessing of Orchard Mesa Middle School and Virginia Hiatt of West Middle School.
Elementary school retirees are: Jeffrey Pearson and Carolyn Saims of Appleton; Sharmin Gugat of Broadway; Ruth Karn and Judy Money of Chipeta; Christine Gardner of Dos Rios; Barbara Durkop of Fruitvale; Kathryn Schulz of New Emerson; Debby Creasy, Carolyn Horton, Cindy Masten (also of Dual Immersion Academy), David Swinger, Stephen Wallace and Sandy Wyatt, all of Nisley; Marcia Reesberg of Pomona; Brenda Kamenski and Ruby McCall of Rocky Mountain; Clyde Johnson of Scenic; Debra Dirst of Shelledy; Sherri Given of Taylor; Nancy Potter of Thunder Mountain; Meredith Miller of Tope; and Jacqueline Temple of Wingate.
