A better recipe

The process a committee chosen to evaluate potential food-service vendors for Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park golf courses appears to be better designed to meet the needs of the courses and their customers than an earlier, controversial attempt.

For one thing, the committee of evaluators this time is much more heavily weighted toward people who actually use the golf courses. The first committee relied much more heavily on city employees and people associated with city committees.

Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, this committee is looking exclusively at two private entities to satisfy the contract for the food service at the golf courses. The city-owned Two Rivers Convention Center organization isn’t part of the mix.

Clearly, the City Council and administration listened to complaints about the earlier process and recognized it should be fixed.

We hope this latest process results in the hiring of a vendor who provides great food and services for the golf courses, and allows city officials to stop getting grilled over this issue.
