A Greek Festival means great food

Don’t resist the baklava.

Not only is it delicious and prepared by hand, but some of the proceeds from its sale will go to help the those in need in our community.

That baklava can be found at A Greek Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3585 N. 12th St.

There also will be dancing, games, gifts, tours of the church and more traditional Greek food, of course.

While the festival takes over the church and its parking lot, festival parking will be in the vacant lot across 12th Street from the church and in the parking lot of Unity Church, south of Saint Nicholas.

From the past four festivals, organizers have been able to donate more than $10,000 to various community nonprofit organizations. This year, a portion of the festival proceeds will be given to Grand Valley Catholic Outreach and the Marillac Clinic.
