A year after attack, widow to thank supporters at event

Linda Fine, who survived an attack a year ago in which her husband and a friend were killed, will have an open house of thanks from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Moon Bar and Grille, 120 N. Seventh St.

Fine and her family will thank the friends, relatives, patients in Dr. Terry Fine’s dental practice, the staff and physicians at St. Mary’s Hospital and others who helped them through the last year.

Terry Fine and Flo Gallagher died in the attack by a gunman who later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Flo’s husband, Mike, sped to St. Mary’s Hospital with the grievously wounded Linda Fine in the back seat, escaping a hail of gunfire from the gunman.

In Sunday’s Daily Sentinel, Linda Fine discusses the past year and what she hopes for the future.
