Actor Kal Penn to visit GJ
Actor Kal Penn, best known for his role in “Harold and Kumar” and “House,” will visit Grand Junction today in support of the Obama/Biden Canvass campaign starting by local democrats.
Penn most recently gave a comedic speech in support of the president at the Democratic National Convention. His appearance was aimed at young voters and included references to Twitter, suggesting his hashtag should be “sexyface” and online voter registration.
Penn has supported the president since 2007 where he served as the associate director for the White House Office of Public Engagement. He has since resigned that post to pursue his acting career, but has made a number of appearances in commercials and video for the Obama administration.
Penn will join local democrats in kicking off a door-to-door campaign from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the party’s headquarters, 2454 Hwy. 6 & 50, Suite 112, near Pier One Imports.
