Agency OKs reservoir for irrigation district

A plan by Orchard Mesa Irrigation District to build a 10-acre reservoir and make other improvements aimed at saving 17,500 acre feet of water annually in the Colorado River was given the go-ahead by the Bureau of Reclamation.

The agency found the project would result in no significant impact to the river and the water left in the channel will benefit endangered fish species in the 15-mile reach of the Grand Valley, as well as recreation and wildlife, the agency said. The first phase of construction is to begin in November and cost about $1.1 million.

Would it have been too much work to tell us where the reservoir will be located? Because it would involve going beyond the press release and using Google?  The reservoir will be built north of A-1/2 Road and south of B Road, between 29-1/2 and 29-3/4 Roads, roughly between Mesa View Elementary School and the Kia dealership.
