Alternative fuel topic of chamber talk

Development of a market for compressed natural gas as a transportation fuel will be discussed at the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce energy briefing on Wednesday.

Clean Energy Economy for the Region will address the economic benefits of vehicles powered by compressed natural gas and the progress toward developing markets for the fuel, as well as the possibility of building a plant for compressed natural gas in the area.

The briefing will include a Ford F-150 pickup that runs with compressed natural gas and a Chevrolet Silverado bi-fuel pickup in the chamber’s back parking lot.

The briefing will be at noon in the basement of the chamber building, 360 Grand Ave.

Reservations, which are required for lunch, can be made by calling 242-3214.
