Annual city leaf pickup begins today
City of Grand Junction crews will begin picking up leaves from homes within city limits starting today and continuing until mid-December as part of the city’s annual leaf pickup program.
Kristin Winn, spokeswoman for the city’s Public Works and Planning Department, said residents are asked to rake their leaves into the street 18 inches from the gutters or to the edge of the street where there are no gutters.
The city will use four vacuum trucks and two street sweepers to collect the leaves.
Crews will not pick up bagged leaves, tree limbs, logs, brush, garden trimmings, wood, rock, bricks, concrete or metal.
