Art and Jazz Festival to cover 2 days

Knit on the Corner, a knitted art installation, will be on display around downtown during the Art and Jazz Festival. Knit on the Corner is put together by Tangle, a Main Street yarn and sewing shop. Tangle has done Knit on the Corner for three years.

Art and all that jazz is what you’ll find at the 2012 Grand Junction Downtown Art and Jazz Festival that begins at 4 p.m. Friday, May 11, on Main Street.

The free festival continues from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13. Free parking is available in the Rood Avenue parking garage.

The annual celebration of art and music features high quality street vendors, local and national artists, live music, extended shopping hours, a wine and beer garden, gourmet food and more.

There will be artists demonstrations in a variety of mediums. Go to to see a list of featured artists and vendors.

The installation of new Art on the Corner sculptures will not take place with the festival this year. Look for those new additions in June.
