Attic fire at Redlands house

Fifteen people were uninjured in a Tuesday night attic fire at a Redlands house.

The fire was reported at approximately 8:30 p.m. at 431A Pleasant Drive and was contained to the attic, but smoke damage was reported throughout the house, said Grand Junction Fire Department spokesman Mike Page.

Page said the damage in the attic was “pretty significant.”

He didn’t know the fire’s cause but said all 15 people home at the time of the fire evacuated safely.

A number of out-of-town family members were in town for a funeral, Page said.
