Authorities investigate man’s death in river

Authorities released few details Saturday night about a man who died in the Colorado River in the Black Rock area, about 16 miles west of the Loma boat ramp.

Volunteer searchers with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department pulled the man’s body from the river Saturday night, but no further details were released about his identity or how he ended up in the river.

The man’s next of kin hadn’t been notified, according to Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Mary Gonzales.
