Auto fest focus: Corvettes

Gateway Canyons Classic Auto Fest will bring hundreds of classic cars to Gateway Canyons Resort on Saturday, May 8. The festival coincides with the anniversary of the Gateway Colorado Auto Museum and admission to the museum is part of the festival ticket price. To get to Gateway, take Colorado Highway 141 south for about 50 minutes.

Corvettes aplenty will be on display at the fifth annual Gateway Canyons Classic Auto Fest.

The Corvette is the marquee car this year and organizers are expecting a number of them for the show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Gateway Canyons Resort.

The car show includes an opening ceremony, judging of cars, a trophy presentation and drawings. More than 250 classic and antique cars will be on display and 23 best of class awards will be given as well as honors for best of show, best of marquee, Gateway Colorado Auto Museum choice, partner’s choice and people’s choice.

There also will be music, food and craft vendors at the show.

Tickets are $10 and include entry into the event and the auto museum, which features 45 classic and antique cars, and a charitable contribution. Proceeds from the show benefit Mesa County Partners.
