Autopsy yields no answers in Delta man’s death

Delta County Coroner Kevin Lucy said an autopsy performed Tuesday yielded no cause of death for 27-year-old Chad Allen Koch II, whose body was discovered Monday night outside a local home.

A ruling on cause and manner of death is pending a toxicology report, which may take up to eight weeks to complete, Lucy said. Tuesday’s autopsy turned up no obvious, outward sign of trauma or injuries on Koch’s body, Lucy said.

Koch’s body was discovered on private property by Delta police officers who were called around 8:12 p.m. on a report of suspicious activity in the area of H-38 Road and U.S. Highway 50. Police initially labeled the death as suspicious.

Police spokeswoman Jaime Head today said in a release an investigation will eventually be sent to the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.
