Benefit dinner to raise money for burn victim

DELTA — A benefit dinner and silent auction for Orchard City burn victim Greg Burrows will be held Saturday during the annual AppleFest celebration at Town Park in Cedaredge.

On Sept. 17 Burrows was working when he caught fire following an explosion. He was rushed to Delta County Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Denver University Hospital. Burrows stabilized, but suffered burns to some 40 percent of his upper body.

Burrows has been a resident of Delta County and the Orchard City area since 1991. He attended school in Hotchkiss where he was active in 4-H and FFA organizations.

According to a statement from the Burrows family, Greg is a giving person who would help anybody who asked.

He is married to Sisily Burrows, and has one child and two stepchildren.

A bank account has been set up as the Greg Burrows Benefit Fund and donations can be deposited at any U.S. Bank branch.

The family has no insurance to cover the costs.

People seeking additional information or wanting to make a donation are asked to call Jackie Bodine at 970-835-8654.
