Bennet says Colo. suffering unemployment cutoff
DENVER — U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet is calling on fellow senators to extend unemployment benefits.
Bennet says 36,000 Coloradans are losing their unemployment insurance on Saturday. He says extending benefits would spur economic growth and help boost employment.
A jobless aid measure backed by Democrats has largely fallen prey to GOP concerns about the federal deficit.
