The Grand Valley has a new convenience retailer in Clifton, as a new Family Dollar store is slated to open Thursday. A grand-opening celebration will be take place Saturday at the new store at 479 32 Road and will include giveaways and prizes consisting of a Coby Bluetooth speaker and a drone. The first 50 customers will also receive a Family Dollar gift card.
Family Dollar has more than 8,000 stores in 46 states and is headquartered in Matthews, North Carolina. The low-cost store has a mix of name brands and private-brand merchandise.
“Family Dollar continues to grow and we’re thrilled to bring our wide assortment and great values to Clifton,” Family Dollar spokeswoman Heather Briganti said in a statement. “We are proud to be part of the community and are looking forward to our grand opening.”
■ Mountain View Window and Door has a new home at 571 25 Road that will allow for more storage and a bigger display room.
“The biggest reason for the move was more room for display purposes to show our products,” Mountain View Window and Door General Manager and Chief Financial Officer Keith Hogstad said.
The company is still in the process of setting up after moving last week from 2511 N. 12th. St. The new location is substantially larger at around 10,000 square feet, a big upgrade from the 1,400 feet at the previous location.
Mountain View Windows and Doors sells windows, doors and hardware with numerous selections. The company started in 2012 in Denver and opened in Grand Junction in 2014.
Hogstad said the company is still working on finishing the showroom set-up, but the store is already open at the new location.
■ Beautifeye Day Spa moved to a new location and opened its doors Sept. 1 at 1130 Belford Ave., in a spot that is about four times the size of the previous location.
Susie Miller moved her business about 10 blocks from 753 Rood Ave. and said it was always her plan to have a bigger business when she opened in January 2016.
“I had plans a long time to be large, but you just can’t jump into a big building,” Miller said.
Beautifeye Day Spa offers skin care, eyelash extensions, nails and waxing, therapeutic massage and body treatments and has grown from Miller as the sole worker to where she now has seven employees.
The new space is about 2,000 square feet and has two manicure rooms, two pedicure rooms, two single-service rooms and two couples rooms. The previous location was 500 square feet and had two service rooms.
■ Crafts and More Vendors Galore is celebrating its one-year anniversary from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday with a party that will include music, face painting, food and Penelope the Clown.
The shop at 558 Main St. has 23 local vendors that sell materials such as crafts, jewelry and many other items.
