Local home builders and even prospective home owners can better take advantage of the design staff and conference rooms at Alldraft Design Services, which announced last month that they’ve opened a new office location at 2470 Patterson Road, Unit 6, in the Patterson Center Plaza.

The company says the move was spurred by recent significant growth due to new and increasing demand for home design services.

“We are seeing home builders that have not built in several years call the office needing to get plans drawn up,” said Gilbert Maynard, owner of the company.

In a release announcing the move, Maynard is quoted as saying, “Alldraft Design Services provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for all of your construction project needs. In addition to our core home design drafting services, (the company has) partnered with professional engineers and architects in order to deliver stamped engineered foundation plans and commercial project plans as well.”

The new office location will specifically provide a convenient location for home owners and professional builders to conduct design meetings and plan revisions. More information is available at goalldraft.com or call for an appointment at 241-6782.

■ Last Friday was a “big” one for Hammerhead Paint Services, 2263 Logos Court in Grand Junction, as the company celebrated the addition of Megatron, a new 63-foot-long paint booth that the company says will grow their job capacity by 50 percent.

The addition of the large new paint booth has already led to three new hires at the company, with three more planned for the near future, according to an announcement.

Hammerhead said the expansion was an $850,000 investment, and that another $250,000 is planned over the next 18 months in order to meet new market demand.

“The new booth has also allowed us to reach a new level in safety compliance, (and) Hammerhead is a part of the Environmental Leadership Program, a Colorado Public Health & Environment program as a part of its efforts to be environmentally conscious,” officials said in a recent release.

Dalby Wendland — the 65-year-old accounting firm with offices in Grand Junction, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Montrose, Rifle, and Telluride — recently won some recognition from key industry magazines, earning a Top Regional Firm in the Mountain States Region recognition by Accounting Today, and a runner-up nod for Best of Colorado Business Choice/Best Local Accounting Firm by ColoradoBiz.

It’s the fifth year in a row for the regional honor, which includes Colorado, Utah, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, and the ColoradoBiz recognition reflected an online people’s choice vote.

■ The commercial real estate numbers are in for the first quarter of 2017, courtesy of the regular Bray Real Estate commercial report, and there were some notable sales.

Topping the list was the sale of the Compass Park Building, 3.4 acres at 2754 Compass Drive that sold for $5.2 million in January. The more than 78,000-square-foot building went for $18.28 per square foot in the end.

Just below that price-wise was the new Mattress Firm, at 800 Maldonado St., which sold for $3,582,000, or $368.37 a square foot, in February.

The only other million-dollar-plus commercial sale this past quarter was the former Subaru dealership, on 2.2 acres at 2496 U.S. Highway 6&50, which sold for $2,983,000 on Feb. 1.
