Burglary alleged in arrest
Larry Kenneth Dixson II, 23, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of aggravated robbery, second-degree burglary, theft of between $300 to $750, criminal mischief of less than $500, assault in the third degree and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse with no injury, according to his arrest affidavit from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Dixson allegedly entered a home without permission April 5 and assaulted a man living at the residence, saying, “I want my bread.” The woman who reported the incident was more than seven months pregnant and believed Dixson was looking for a different man who used to live in the home, the affidavit said.
Dixson allegedly stole an Xbox 360 valued at $340 on his way out of the house, causing $150 in damage to a TV’s HDMI ports, the affidavit said.
Driver says he was shot at
A truck driver reported at 12:42 p.m. Friday that, as he was driving westbound on Interstate 70, someone in a newer model dark or black full-size Dodge truck fired a bullet at his windshield in De Beque Canyon, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver lost sight of the truck when he was directed to pull over to meet with law enforcement. Several agencies placed personnel along I-70 and the exits to try to locate any vehicle matches. However, the Sheriff’s Office said it couldn’t confirm what damaged the windshield until it located the suspect.
According to the Colorado State Patrol:
■ Bryan Wade Taylor, 40, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, aggravated driving with a revoked license, DUI, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse with no injury, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses after Taylor reportedly was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt and allegedly was found to be driving under the influence of drugs and had methamphetamine in the vehicle with two small children.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Kyle Ron Fred Lewitzky, 23, was arrested and released on a summons Thursday after an officer reported seeing Lewitzky urinating on the PartyLand building, 2650 North Ave.
■ A man was assaulted Saturday, April 5, in the 600 block of Sovereign Lane. An investigation is ongoing.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Darren Ralph Caldwell, 43, Grand Junction, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, being a habitual traffic offender and possession of drug paraphernalia. Caldwell also was arrested on suspicion of violating bail bond conditions from a previous arrest.
