Hit-and-run suspect jailed
A 19-year-old Grand Junction woman was booked into Mesa County jail Monday after after a tricycle was struck by a vehicle and the rider seriously injured. The driver was accused of fleeing the scene, according to Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Danielle Elena Miranda remained in jail Tuesday on $5,000 bond on suspicion of vehicular assault while driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident, among other charges, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Miranda submitted to three blood draws, all of which showed she had a blood-alcohol level of at least 0.081 percent, above the legal limit, at the time she was driving.
The incident occurred as Miranda was driving east on Patterson Road around 9 a.m. Dec. 14.
Witnesses told police Miranda struck the tricycle, causing it and its rider to fly off the roadway. The rider suffered a broken arm that could result in significant disfigurement, the Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Dennis McHugh, 56, was arrested and released on a summons April 9 on suspicion of trespassing at 337 S. First St.
■ Someone caused a loss of less than $50 Sunday when a vehicle parked in the area of 2525 Rimrock Ave. was unlawfully entered and items taken.
■ Someone caused a loss of less than $2,000 Saturday when a residence located in the 1400 block of Rood Avenue was entered and items taken.
■ Rachel Liverman, 18, was issued a summons for shoplifting Sunday after being contacted at 2545 Rimrock Ave.
■ Someone caused a loss of less than $50 Sunday when a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Teller Avenue was unlawfully entered and items taken.
■ Brittney Wargo, 18, of Grand Junction, was arrested and released on a summons Monday on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia by a person under 21 when contacted at 306 Boulder Road.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Daniel Windemaker, 31, of Eckert was arrested Monday and issued a summons on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence.
■ April K. Mott, 33, of Montrose, was booked into Montrose County jail on $10,000 bond Tuesday on suspicion of DUI, no proof of insurance and driving under revocation.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s office:
■ An unidentified suspect participated in a fraud Monday near Silt.
■ An unidentified suspect stole a trailer Monday near Carbondale.
