Child abuse alleged in arrest
Shane R. McNeese, 30, was arrested March 22 on suspicion of child abuse, third-degree assault and criminal mischief.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, McNeese’s alleged victim, with whom he lives, reported that during a verbal altercation, McNeese punched a hole in the bedroom door, threw her cellphone against a wall and then choked her with both hands.
A child who lives at the residence tried to intervene, according to police, but McNeese grabbed the child by the shirt, told him to “stay out of it” and threw the child against a wall.
McNeese was located in the 2900 block of Orchard Avenue and arrested.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Someone caused more than $1,000 in damage to a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of B 1/2 Road Friday night after tampering with and removing property from it.
■ Brian Paul, 31, was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 1900 block of North Avenue on suspicion of felony menacing.
■ A 16-year-old girl was arrested and released on a summons Tuesday morning in the 1000 block of Teller Avenue on suspicion of consuming alcohol and marijuana.
According to the Montrose Sheriff’s Department:
■ A deputy responded to a stray dog report Monday morning in the 19800 block of U.S. Highway 550; the dog was returned to its owner.
■ A deputy was dispatched to LaSalle and 6100 Road Monday morning on a report of a dog with porcupine quills in its face. The deputy was unable to catch the dog.
