Pizza delivery SUV stolen

Brandon Ray Morrison, 27, 101 Reeder Mesa Road, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of stealing a vehicle from a Domino’s Pizza delivery employee.

The employee reported that his Chevrolet Blazer was stolen from outside a home in the 500 block of Serenade Street while he was delivering pizza there, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department. The delivery man said his keys were in the ignition and the motor was running when he saw his vehicle being stolen. He attempted to stop it and was run over and knocked to the ground when the suspect drove the vehicle at him.

A few hours later, a sheriff’s deputy caught sight of the stolen vehicle being driven onto Interstate 70 and followed it as it exited at Horizon Drive and crashed into a guardrail. The driver ran from the vehicle, but the deputy was able to catch him, and Morrison was identified as the vehicle’s driver, an arrest affidavit said.

Morrison was arrested on suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft, aggravated robbery, vehicular eluding, second-degree assault, aggravated driving, failing to stop at a red light and speeding more than 40 mph over the speed limit.
