Man jailed in injury crash
Laymond Norris, 59, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of charges including driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, reckless driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident, after witnesses said a Ford F150 pickup he was driving was observed several times running over the right curb of U.S. Highway 50, after entering the roadway via Riverside Parkway, according to an arrest affidavit.
The truck eventually struck a concrete barrier on the right side, which caused the truck to hit a vehicle in the left lane.
A man, his pregnant wife and three children suffered minor injuries in the other vehicle.
Norris was arrested at his home in the 2700 block of B 1/2 Road. Norris’ license was revoked bsecause of an alcohol or drug-related driving conviction, the affidavit said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Katrina Leake, 20, was issued a summons Sunday for suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Several items were reported stolen Saturday from a parked vehicle in the 1800 block of North 12th Street.
■ Meghan Richens, 25, was issued a summons Saturday for suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 2881 North Ave.
■ Cheyenne Dillon, 18, and a known juvenile female, were issued summonses Friday for suspicion of underage consumption of alcohol at 28 1/4 Road and Niagara Circle.
■ More than $1,000 in property was reported stolen from a parked vehicle Wednesday at 125 Franklin Ave., unit 415.
■ Kay Kelly, 35, was cited Friday for suspicion of shoplifting less than $1,000 at Target, 2424 U.S. Highway 6&50.
■ Chris Harbin, 30, was cited April 23 for suspicion of obstructing a peace office and harassment at 398 N. Dale Court.
■ Keith Bambino, 52, was ticketed Saturday on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstruction after allegedly interfering during an investigation at Emerson Park.
■ Shanelle Bullen, 26, was cited Thursday for suspicion of harassment and disorderly conduct after officers were called to a fight at 2401 North Ave.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ A deputy contacted the occupants of a vehicle Sunday, which was parked near 31 Road and E 1/2 Road, after they were deemed suspicious. The individuals explained they had “stopped to allow the dog to urinate” and went on their way, according to a report.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Deputies were called Saturday to handle reports of either vicious dogs or stray dogs in the 61800 block of Oak Grove Road, 19300 block of U.S. Highway 550, milepost 120 on U.S. Highway 550, the 15000 block of 6900 Road and the 6800 block of South River Road.
■ Mahlon Johnson, 22, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony menacing, prohibited use of a weapon and disorderly conduct.
■ Steven Pinocci, 23, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony menacing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing.
