Fire damages Clifton house
Firefighters answered a call Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. at 3207 Rood Circle West, finding a smoky fire contained to a kitchen on the second floor.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire, which may have started in the evaporative cooler on the home’s roof, according to officials with the Clifton Fire Department,
No people were injured, but fire officials said a Labrador dog died, likely due to smoke inhalation.
Damages are estimated at around $50,000, and the fire’s cause is still under investigation.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Someone on April 9 unlawfully entered a residence in the 500 block of North 24th Street and removed items valued at less than $2,000.
■ Two juvenile males, both 15, were each issued summonses Thursday for shoplifting after being contacted at 2809 North Ave.
■ Three juvenile males, all 15, were each issued summonses on the west side of the city Thursday for underage consumption of marijuana. One of the juveniles was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ Someone damaged a vehicle in the 1200 block Cannell Avenue Friday causing a loss of more than $1,000.
■ Two known juveniles, 16 and 17, were both arrested and released on summonses Saturday for shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $50 from a retail outlet at 2881 North Ave.
■ Someone stole an unlocked vehicle from a residence on the east side of the city Saturday. The vehicle was later recovered.
■ Someone attempted Sunday to use a counterfeit $10 bill to pay for merchandise at 401 30 Road.
■ Michael Armstrong, 18, was arrested for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failing to drive on the right side of the road after being contacted near the intersection of B 1/2 Road and Allyce Avenue.
■ Ian Von Rock, 19, was arrested Monday and released on a summons in the 1200 block of Houston Avenue on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia by a person under the age of 21.
■ A unknown subject caused serious bodily injury to the victim during a physical altercation in the 2700 Block of G Road on Tuesday. The case is still under investigation.
According to the Montrose Police Department:
■ Brandy Lanlinais, 34, and David Kouris, 38, both of Montrose, were arrested in the 1200 block of Hill Street Tuesday on suspicion of domestic violence. Kouris was also arrested on suspicion of child abuse, harassment, obstructing phone service and criminal mischief.
