Frozen food stolen
“A large quantity” of frozen food, including venison, steaks, pork chops, vegetables and frozen pizza, was stolen Thursday from a deep freezer in the garage of a residence in the 2700 block of Grant Court, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
Approximately $50 in damage was reportedly done to the side garage door to gain access to the freezer.
Boy arrested after fight
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of third-degree assault, physical harassment, theft of between $50 and $100 and false imprisonment after he allegedly stole his sister’s Nintendo system and sold it without permission, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
A fight allegedly ensued because the boy wouldn’t go get the gaming system back and wouldn’t allow his sister to, either, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The boy was taken to the Division of Youth Corrections.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Elmina Amber Shumway, 32, 278 Pinon St., was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstruction of an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
■ Rudolfo Castillo Jr., 25, no address given, was ticketed Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $750 from Mesa Mall, 2424 U.S. Highway 6&50.
■ Someone damaged a vehicle Aug. 3 at Mesa Mall, 2424 U.S. Highway 6&50, causing more than $1,000 in damage.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Tina Leanne Thomas, 47, 598 Pioneer Road, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic violation.
■ Approximately $200 in damage was reported Thursday when a passenger-side window was smashed on a car parked in the Midlands Village storage lot in Clifton.
■ A steel drum used to protect an irrigation pump and a cast iron sleeve used to protect irrigation pipe were reported stolen Thursday from the 2700 block of C 1/2 Road. Combined, the items were valued at $125.
■ Someone reported $200 worth of damage to a truck Thursday parked in the 600 block of Pine Wood Court.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
■ Steven L. Callaway, 21, Delta, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony menacing, third-degree assault and crimes against an at-risk adult, as well as for an outstanding warrant.
