Frozen food stolen

“A large quantity” of frozen food, including venison, steaks, pork chops, vegetables and frozen pizza, was stolen Thursday from a deep freezer in the garage of a residence in the 2700 block of Grant Court, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

Approximately $50 in damage was reportedly done to the side garage door to gain access to the freezer.

Boy arrested after fight

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of third-degree assault, physical harassment, theft of between $50 and $100 and false imprisonment after he allegedly stole his sister’s Nintendo system and sold it without permission, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

A fight allegedly ensued because the boy wouldn’t go get the gaming system back and wouldn’t allow his sister to, either, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The boy was taken to the Division of Youth Corrections.
