Reward offered in arson

The Fruita Police Department continues to search for suspects in two fires that caused more than $50,000 in damage to city property in the early morning hours of June 24.

The first fire destroyed a Little Salt Wash Park storage shed and its contents shortly after midnight. The second fire destroyed three city vehicles shortly before 3 a.m.

Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Anyone who knows the identity or location of the suspects should call 241-7867. Callers will remain completely anonymous.

Suspected car thief jailed

 

A 25-year-old South Dakota man was arrested on suspicion of stealing a Fruita man’s car, according to Grand Junction Police Department.

Utah Highway Patrol arrested Irwin Yazzie of Pierre, S.D., shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday near mile marker 207 on Interstate 70. The Acura Integra he allegedly stole was recovered at the scene, a police report said.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ A lawn mower and more than a dozen tools and power tools valued at less than $2,000 were stolen from a storage unit in the 400 block of Kennedy Avenue sometime before July 19.

■ Cindy Murray, 47, was arrested Monday and released on a summons for harassment after making repeated, threatening communications with a victim in the 600 block of Ouray Avenue.

■ A known male sexually assaulted a female Monday in the northwest portion of the city.

■ A bicycle valued at more than $2,000 was stolen Tuesday from a garage near the 2900 block of Sylvia Lane.

 

According to the Montrose Police Department:

■ Michael Manners, 29, of Montrose, was arrested Wednesday in the 1000 block of East Main Street on suspicion of shoplifting and violating a protection order.

■ Joshua Pritchett, 24, of Montrose, was arrested Thursday in the 16400 block of 6725 Road on suspicion of careless driving, DUI and failure to provide proof of insurance.

 

According to Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:

■ John Cole McComber, 37, of Rocky Ford, was arrested July 26 on suspicion of assault in the third degree.

■ Senobio Uribe Mendoza, 49, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested July 26 on suspicion of physical harassment.

■ Brent A. McDonald, 49, of Silt, was arrested Monday on suspicion of physical harassment.
