Gun threat alleged in arrest

A 21-year-old Grand Junction man allegedly pulled a gun on a 2-year-old girl and her parents Tuesday in a reported road rage incident.

As a result, deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department jailed Brock David Riddle on suspicion of reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, felony menacing and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Riddle also was jailed on suspicion of theft by receiving because the weapon, a Ruger SP101 Magnum .357, had been reported stolen. Riddle told the deputies he got it from a man he only knew as “Bluebird,” according to an arrest affidavit.

The incident occurred when the victims honked at Riddle after he reportedly nearly hit their vehicle while backing out of a parking space at Fruitvale Liquors, 505 30 Road.

Man accused of indecency

 

A man was issued a summons July 28 on suspicion of walking through the parking lot at Walmart, 2881 North Ave., and entering the store while exposing himself.

Witnesses told police it didn’t appear that the man, John Thomas McDugle, had exposed himself unintentionally.

He was issued a summons on suspicion of public indecency.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Someone damaged a vehicle July 22 in the 2300 block of B 1/2 Road, causing between $1,000 and $20,000 in damage.

■ Alicia Ruiz, 27, was issued a summons Sunday on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise valued at less than $100 at Walmart, 2881 North Ave.

■ Someone used counterfeit currency at a business in the 500 block of Main Street on Sunday, causing a loss of more than $50.

■ Juan Sanchez, 33, was issued a summons on Monday on suspicion of shoplifting less than $500 in merchandise from Kohl’s, 636 Market St.

■ Bradley Sutton, 66, was issued a summons on suspicion of trespassing in the 200 block of South First Street, but was jailed on suspicion of violating five outstanding warrants at the same address.

■ Rita Charlene Cady, 60, of Grand Junction was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

■ Bradford Lee Chitwood, 37, of Grand Junction was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree burglary, obstructing a telephone service and criminal mischief.

■ Jeffrey Thomas Duff, 20, of Grand Junction was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of theft, second-degree criminal trespass, obstructing a peace officer, introducing contraband and possession of a controlled substance.

■ Jonyae Trayce Euresti, 20, of Grand Junction was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of harassment and criminal mischief.

■ Luatha Paiz, 55, was jailed Tuesday on suspicion of hit and run, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and driving with a restrained license for a previous alcohol offense.

■ Someone used a counterfeit $100 bill and made a purchase Tuesday at Lairos Children’s Boutique, 533 Main St.

 

According to the Montrose Police Department:

■ Someone broke into a home in the 700 block of North Fifth Street on Tuesday.

■ Someone broke into a home in the 300 block of South Sixth Street on Tuesday.

 

According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:

■ Michael Hensley, 57, was issued a summons Tuesday on suspicion of harassment.

 

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

■ Someone removed the lug nuts on a vehicle in the 2800 block of Hartford Avenue on Tuesday.

■ Pedro Alberto Carbajal, 21, of Grand Junction was jailed Wednesday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and three outstanding failure to appear warrants.
