Body found in Rifle
Rifle police officers discovered a body Thursday morning in the Fravert area off West 24th Street in Rifle. Police said they believe the death was by suicide, and that foul play is not suspected, but an investigation continues. The name of the deceased person is not being released at this time.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Someone took property from an at-risk adult on the northeast side of the city, causing a loss of less than $50.
■ Tavara Seals, 34, was arrested Wednesday in the 2700 block of U.S. Highway 50 and booked into Mesa County jail on suspicion of eluding officers on a traffic stop, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving with a revoked license, possessing methamphetamine and recklessly endangering several people in the parking lot of a grocery store.
■ Nakrista Valenzuela, 20, allegedly shoplifted items valued at less then $50 from a liquor store at 2500 Broadway. Valenzuela was cited on suspicion of shoplifting and minor in possession of alcohol.
■ Luis Vasquez, 24, was arrested on suspicion of harassment in the central portion of the city.
■ David L. Hanson, 42, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a male in the 300 block of Colorado Avenue.
According to the Montrose Police Department:
■ Diana Simpson. 48, of Montrose, was arrested Wednesday in the 300 block of Sixth Street and booked into Montrose County jail on suspicion of DUI and driving under revocation,
■ Lindsay Boyd, 30, of Montrose, was cited Wednesday in the 300 block of Main Street on suspicion of displaying fictitious plates and operating an uninsured vehicle on a public road.
■ Sarah Davis, 25, of Montrose, was booked into Montrose County jail Wednesday after she was cited in the 900 block of South Townsend Ave. on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and failure to present insurance.
