Orchard Mesa garage fire
• A fire late Sunday afternoon caused an estimated $15,000 damage to an Orchard Mesa garage, according to the Grand Junction Fire Department.
Around 6:05 p.m., 23 firefighters began unfurling hoses, and closed off the street and attacked the fire at 2881 1/2 B 1/2 Road.
The fire did not reach the house but did find its way into the attic of the garage. Within 15 minutes of arriving, firefighters had the fire out, they said.
None of the five people who were home at the time was hospitalized, but three people were treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation, firefighters said.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
• A resident of the 400 block of Mae Street in Clifton reported at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, that four men were beating a vehicle with a pipe. When he confronted the men, they told him to go inside, deputies said.
Eventually, the vehicle was driven away and the men left on foot, deputies said.
• The driver of a car fled deputies late Saturday when they tried to pull the car over.
Deputies spotted the vehicle heading west on Centennial Road without its lights on at 11:38 p.m. A search of the area failed to turn up the driver, deputies said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• Members of the Western Colorado Drug Task Force a bought drugs from Juan Carlos Ibarra At 6 p.m. Tuesday, police allege. Ibarra was booked into Mesa County Jail.
